PT Twreck: mA?

Post by lky »

Hi,
I'm getting components for my Twreck, and I can't buy PT Heyboer because in Italy there's 220 V.
I see transformer with:

Secondary: 300-0-300 V and 250 mA
Filament: 6,3V CT@4A

Secondary current's enough or I need 300 mA?
And current for filament?

Thanks

You're borderline on the B+ current. Technically, a pair of EL34s at those operating voltages will pull around 250mA -- however, in reality, and with the 6600ohm primary impedance, you won't peak nearly that high so you'll probably stay within ratings.

The heater amperage looks OK, to. Figure 3A for the pair of EL34s, .3A for each of the 12ax7s. If you're running 6v6 you've got plenty on all counts.
