Need validation of my PS values please...

Post by Tonegeek »

I am about ready to test my PS and I started worrying that I have the wrong dropping string when I saw some other schematics posted in the files section so just need someone to validate my PS. ingore my bias arrangement, I am mostly interested in the dropping resistors values (well really the B+ voltages). See the attachment
Thanks,
Whit

You're missing the FET load simulator resistor, 150K 2 watt at the end of the string. HAD connected the FET board to the last node of the PS. The 150k resistor createa abot the same load.

More important is the plate voltages on V1 and V2. These should be as close to 200 as you can get them. Mine typically measure 195 to 210. Lower voltages tend to be mushy, higher are harsh.

I was holding off on the FET sim resistor till I measured the basic system. I saw another ODS101 schem. that had I think a 3k, 10k and 12K string and not knowing the all the math to understand the effects of those differences, I just wanted to run this by those who know for their comments. It sounds like i will just need to tweak it after I get it fired up the first time.

You're values are common well known values. You should be very close.

I ended up using 200K in stead of 150K, to get the V1 values right around 200V...
