Guys - anyone recognize the specific make/model of the following resisitor? It is a 1k resistor, light gray in color, mounted between a terminal strip and pin 4 (screen grid?) of each EL34 (next to the blue metal film resistor) - see the Ruby photo in our files section:
Two Rock Ruby - Inside 1 photo
The likeliest candidate I've found is a metal oxide mini series resistor made by irc/tt "MOM1," "MOM2," etc.
Thanks!

It is a 1K screen resistor mounted to pin 4. I have used a 5 watt Metal Oxide Xicon 5% and currently use 5 watt Ohmite 1% both from Mouser. I really don't think the manufacturer/brand will matter. Probably the type of resistor won't matter either. I think carbon comps are justifiable for use as plate resistors on the preamp tubes though.

Hi Robert! Thanks for your tips on the PT re-placement by the way... I would have hated to have gotten that far without knowing it won't fit as drilled...
Yeah, I'm clear on the resistor values and acceptable kinds, it's just that for me, part of the fun of the build is the challenge of researching and producing as close to a 100% perfect clone as possible. I'll probably build with Ohmite or Vishay-Dale and swap if I ever find what the "factory" part is.
Thanks for your thoughts... how's your build doing these days? Have a chance to reverse the cash flow with some gigging?

Funny I manage to convince others I can generate a cash flow with my playing but not my wife.Have a chance to reverse the cash flow with some gigging?
Thanks for asking. It turned out very nice aside from the tranny placement issue. I have been tweaking a bit and playing all I can. I really like it. I'm amazed your so patient trying to track down the manufacturer of a resistor TR probably doesn't even know where they got it from. You might notice also from other photos that they used different resistors from amp to amp. Put something in there and fire it up. Since I enjoyed that build so much I decided to head to Dumbleland now.how's your build doing these days?
Re: Sleuthing challenge - name that manufacturer!
Hard to tell from the picture but they look like metal oxide 2 watt 5% resistor I bought from AES. They do not mention the manufacturer but they seem to be Xicon as mentionned earlier.
