Whats up all! I just thought I'd post a quick intro before posting elsewhere on this site.

First, very cool site! I've been collecting pictures/gut shots of Dumble and Two Rock amps for a while now. Many of them are posted here, but I think I might have a few that haven't??

I've not built an amplifier yet. I'm an electronics hobbyist, and aside from reading about basic electricity from a text book and the internet, I have no background in electronics. However, I'm fascinated by the subject and have assembled quite a few pedals/circuits. Aside from that, I've replaced caps in my and other's amps.. that's about it.

I have a couple of amps that I love. A 59 Bandmaster and a Two Rock modified Bassman head sold to me by Joe M. Not being able to afford a proper TR, Joe made me a deal on this. The Bandmaster is fun, much more portable. But the Bassman head is amazing. It's essentially a K&M Custom in a Bassman head. All that's left of the bassman is a few cloth wires and the iron. It's a channel switching, buffered effects loop, bright mid and EQ 1/2 switches. Tone bypass etc. It sound amazing when it's dialed in right...

Welcome................... I have the same thing, a two rock mod Bassman. I wonder if I got the same deal. Does your have the penny on the transformer? Joe did a lot of these when they were first starting. Mine came with a pack of Kool-Aid

@NickC - I live up here in Seattle-land. We had our 3 days of summer last week, which was amazing. Now back to clouds and rain (soon).

@SoundPerf - yes! I'd eventually like to build my own amp. Still researching and figuring things out.

@Structo - yeah, I'd be happy to post some photos. I've made it my own to some degree (replacing the drip edge/grill cloth) and adding black cloth with white piping (to match my TR cab). Removing the sharpie labels and adding waterslide decals, etc. I also just replaced the filter caps in it (it had the old mallory/ge aluma-lytics) with Joe's blessing. I was going to send it to them but he said it'd be cheaper and easier if I did it myself. Funny thing was, I think the bias cap I used to replace was underrated (more like the tolerances are much tigher than they were back in the 70s). I put a Sprague 50uf/50v cap on the bias board and I believe it failed on me recently. I ended up replacing that with a F&T 100uf/100v cap and it seems better. It did cook a couple of resistor color bands in the power supply filter section, but they held up OK.

@dreric - Mine doesn't have a penny

Where is yours? Is it superglued or ??? I've not found much info about these mod bassman heads, but I understand they did do a handful of them.

I don't post very often, but I don't think a day goes by that I'm not lurking around absorbing all the great info that I can here
