anyone know the brand of electrolytic caps justradios sells?
I'm looking to source the parts for an Asteroid build and would like to get them from the fewest vendors possible.
It appears that I can grab the caps I need from justradios.com but I wondered what brand they stock. They purposely are vague and state:
"These electrolytic capacitors are factory fresh out of an OEM manufacturing facility that specializes in Axial Leaded Ecaps."
Are they better than say a Xicon of similar spec? Illinois? Tech Cap? CDE? Mallory?
I'm still on the fence about going high zoot on the parts for my build or just getting it done. I'm kinda just looking to get it done.
Thanks for the help.

they look like they could be ars capacitors.
Re: anyone know the brand of electrolytic caps justradios sells?
I like the basic axial caps shown at CE Distribution/tubesandmore/AES
as well as www.mojotone.com, www.turretboards.com and www.Hoffman.com has good selection. www.rjguitars.net has caps as well.
The trouble with the surplus places they are either good caps or in one case all the long leads were cut short and when I complained no response. I would have to look through my papers to figure out the name of that place, only shopped there once.

Just Radios is a good supplier, no surplus.
Really good quality caps and resistors, been using for long time.

The electrolytics (LV) i got from them are MIEC branded. Their plastic caps are branded ETR who manufacture for many companies including CDE.

the etr caps are ok, they have 500pf which is rare...
but the electo's are basically the cheapest shittiest ones you can get... maybe thats not bad though?
id get something better for what your doing. usually in power supplies cheap parts don't sound best, but as always it depends

The last Asteriod I build I used Mojo Dijon film/foil coupling caps and IC e-caps.

Not claiming AT ALL that I am a great builder/ have great ears/ know a lot / can detect the diff. between great electro's and shitty ones but I have used those Electro's for years now and have had no trouble everhitchcaster wrote:the etr caps are ok, they have 500pf which is rare...
