I have a marshall 4010 combo (basically a 2204) which sound great, but it has no effects loop or even pre-amp out.
I also have a 2205 I use as my main amp because it has the effects loop and two-channel switching, but it does not have the sound of the 2204.
Is there any way for me to run these two amps together - many find a place to tap the output of the 2204 preamp and run it into the 2205 power stage?
I just want tii get away from gritty 2205 gain stage and get the beautiful, clean pre-amp into my working rig.

Not, I think, without cutting your 2204, which is not a good idea.
Your best bet would be to have someone make you a 2204 clone with a buffered FX loop.

I got a line on a 4104 I will probably pick tomorrow. The guy said it looks like it has been tinkered with, so maybe I will add the buffered effects loop to that one.
