Has anyone used the Weber WPTGP Transformer? I am not sure how they are spec'ing the secondaries. I have attached a picture for the wiring offered.

Re: Transformer Confusion
What don't you get? You attach the higher voltage tap to the top of the bridge rectifier (the 4-diode dealy) and the lower voltage tap to the bottom of the rectifier. Depending on the difference between the voltages going to the top and bottom of the rectifier you will get different output voltages, all that can handle 150mA of current.
For example: 690-370=320*1.414=~450V B+
620-70=550*1.414=770V B+
370-70=300*1.414=~420V B+
410-0=410*1.414=580V B+
690-410=280*1.414=395V B+
690-0=690*1.414=975V B+ ()
The differential voltage that you choose will determine the final B+ voltage. Lots of options available here..

Re: Transformer Confusion
what cliff said: lots of options---pick a section to see if it fits your needs---the examples weber gives would be some good common ones. with the first one (320vac) you still have the 0-70 left over and you could also bridge that one for a bias supply. and since there's a 5v winding you can use a tube rect as the front diodes of the bridge. lots of options here. rh

I really like that transformer. Very versatile.

So you've used it then?marcoloco961 wrote:I really like that transformer. Very versatile.

Re: Transformer Confusion
Part of the question may be that it's not designed for conventional full wave operation eg 320-0-320. Only FW bridge, for which it is very versatile.

No sir, I have never used this one. I just thought it would be a handy one to have around as it can be used in many different builds.jon wrote:So you've used it then?marcoloco961 wrote:I really like that transformer. Very versatile.
