Hot Rod Deluxe PCB Jacks

Need a little help with jack replacments. Can anyone provide a rear pic of PCB (close up) of for location of jacks. Going to replace w/switchcraft jacks but locations (traces) have been burnt beyond repair or recognition. Looks as though someone used a blow torch. Would appreciate any help w/pics or sketch. I do have schematics but would like to know where would be the best points to make connections for new wire to jacks. Thanks

IIRC some of those jacks don't have a Switchcraft equivalent.. It sounds like something blew up and you might have more to fix then just broken jacks..

They are ordinary shorting jacks on the schematic. The last filter is right next to them, though...

Thanks gents, ordering shorting jacks. This is a friends amp and was not working when it arrived. Seems someone put a jumper from pin 3 of V2A to pin 8 of V1B & paralleled C4 with R10. This is not factory. Should I put things back to factory? I will try and get some pics up this weekend. I think I will replace R78 & R79 (470/5W) ea. Looks like they got very hot. Increase to 10w? Thanks for input. BTW xfmr's test good. Thanks again!

You want #12A jacks. I guess if it were me I'd put it back to the original, unless your buddy likes that mod. These amps have a lot of history with failed resistors- Google around and you will find it. The two you mentioned have caused problems before.

Found some history and can see why people replace PCB. As I mentioned I will post pics to show damaged PCB traces. Getting a good lesson here. Hope this helps other HRDLX owners. Thanks

Hi, sorry-late to the party. I rescued an HRDx with burnt resistors at R78 & 79. This causes the channel switching and the reverb to fail. Easy to fix with better, 10w resistors and better airflow. I also modded the tone stack per Justin Holton's page (easy and very much better than stock). And I replaced the input jack with Switchcraft, not mounted to PCB, which eliminates some of the strain.

In order to reveal the work I did on the input jack, I'd have to remove the PCB, which is a PITA with this model. Let me know if you get in a bind, and I'll get photos for you.

BTW, I thought I'd flip this amp for cash, but it grew on me, and now I love it. The clean channel is awesome, and makes a great pedal platform. Plus, these amps are everywhere, in many backlines, so I know exactly what I'm dealing with when I show up and...there's an HRD!

Here are some pics of the board. As you can see who ever removed # 1 jack torched it off including traces (so,so, thin) BTW ordered wirewound 360ohm 5w. Will they work ? Sorry for the quality. My PC/Camera out of order

Does anyone see problem using 360 ohm 5watt resistors in place of the two 470. Ordered parts based on justinholton pages. Will install per xtian method in air. As you can see I will need to repair traces on board with wire jumpers. Thanks for support.

From memory, those 470R resistors provide ~15vdc for the channel switching relays. Presumably lower value resistors will allow higher voltage, which may burn out relays. Or not.
