Hi All.
I'm considering building with the blue sozo caps, but I'm concerned about the 400V rating.
I know the old Fender schemas always said 400V unless marked otherwise, and I've seen pics of amps with the sozos, so it's probably
ok, but all the D type caps I've seen ( OD's ) are 630 volts...
Am I making too much of nothing?

Cap voltage question...
Please understand that IMO an answer to this question is of no practical relevance at all. - Max
Re: Cap voltage question...
What's your power supply look like? What kind of voltages will those caps actually see?
What will they see at start-up, before the tubes have warmed up enough to draw the voltages down?
Are you using diodes or a 5U4 or a 'controlled warm up" rectifier like a 5AR4?

Life is a tale told by an idiot -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Bob, I'm no expert but I see Fenders and Marshalls running those 400v caps without problems so I can't see why you need to worry about going up to 600v caps. My 2 cents worth

Re: Cap voltage question...
If you're running more than 400VDC on your preamp or PI plates (as opposed to your B+) you have REAL problems!
400V coupling caps are OK.
