If you are converting a BF Bandmaster to a HRM version.
Is there any reason to NOT put the HRM circuit in the second set of tone controls on the front? It seems like it would be useful.
Has anyone done that?
Is the BF Bandmaster OT just as good as the Bassman? I have a transistion year Bassman as well
bassman Ot is 022871/606730
Bandmaster is smaller 022848 -606-6-34
Bandmaster is very clean, Bassman is kind of thrashed... oh what to do

I did that on my first Dumble build, but moved them inside later. In retrospect I'd have used the PAB to disable the clean tone stack and use the HRM tonestack.

Sell the Bandmaster and clean up the Bassman. The Bandmaster OT is a bit weak compared to the Bassman.

Thanks that is what I was planing, have the boost and the lead kick in and use the HRM
I figured that as well after looking at that tranny, it might be easier to buy a new tranny though since the Bassman is a wreck, I would need to bead blast the chassis and have it plated, I'm into each amp for $275, Bandmaster is Damm clean though. I do have a Mercury Radio Spares OT and a few different Kendriks lying around, Maybe they are worth a shot
drz, i havn't bought a chassis.. but i think allyn and some other guys have them for sale time to time.. as for fitting the bassman box, i personally wouldn't go that way again.. all my amps are built in princeton/bassman heads or cutdown princetons that are now heads.. and i HATE the slanted front panel fender used... i find it sometimes a pain if you are using push-push pots or anything that sticks out much in there... kinda tight..
If you are totally in love with the bassman cab, then just get that chassis blasted:) our local places will usually do something like that for -20....

Thanks you are right of course they are a pain, I also have an Aluminum JTM45 chassis lying around, Maybe I will use that, it would be way easier and I really dont like the excess heat of tubes hanging down anyway, I would even have room to put switches under the controls. I do have a bead blaster at work but it would have to be plated afterwards I think or it will rust again

I did (see my signature). Still looking for the right speakers for this amp. Just acquired 2 Jensen Neo 10s but haven't got around to put them in the amp.
If you can only keep one amp then I would sell the Bandmaster and keep the Bassman. The Bassman OT is beefier than the Bandmaster OT.
