Power Cord

Post by Furtz »

Anybody try these? I'm trying to clean up the overall sound of my Princeton clone, and thought it might be the answer. It's a little pricey, but if it works.....

Anyone that buys one of those things truly deserves to be shot. $3500 for a power cord is just stupid. Even if it is made of snake oil and magic dust.

I got a pair of those used off craigslist for $2900.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Well, for 3500 clams, they should do something, no? I'm just wondering if anybody has tried one. I got this 120Hz buzzing I can't seem to get rid of, and was wondering if this cord would help. I'm gonna hold out until they offer free shipping or a 10 footer for the same price as a 6 footer. In the meantime, any input and advice will be appreciated.

Oh well. I thought a bit of silliness in the garage would be OK.

120 Hz you say? Pull all of the lead wires out of the cable and replace them all with red noniradiated PVC wires. And make sure you don't crush the crystal lettuce when you put it all back together.

It uses Sozo capacitors. So.....it will not really sound its best until the 100 hour break-in period has elapsed.
I can build you one just like it for only $2,000.00

Thanks XgamerGt03 for your input. I\m in the process of peeling off the ugly red cloth covering on the signal wiring of a Champ. I'm leaving the green and blue/black cloth on the filament/ground wires because I understand that insulation color has little effect when not directly in the signal path. Do you have a source for cloth wire coverings? I really don't care about the color as long as the original mojo is maintained.

Well you see... what Ken didn't tell anyone is that he actually only used Red White and Blue wire since using anything other than that obviously makes you a terrorist and you must hate freedom.

Do you hate freedom? Is your amp trying to tell on you because you hate freedom?

Remember... only terrorist use green wire.

I wonder if Shunyata will rent out their customer list? I'm looking for investors in my unicorn ranch...

Every filament wire in every amp I make is green and twisted. It's only right. I consider it a tribute to our way of life.

If you order this amp, for example, with the solid-gold chassis option, you really are practically committing a crime if you don't use the King Cobra power cord with it : http://www.alessandro-products.com/amp-beagle.shtml
