I have used both and prefer turrets, I almost always wrap the componets around the turret, it gives a good mechanical connection that works even when you forget to solder the joint..
if it was just about price though then I would use eyelets as they are cheaper
here's a 5E3 I built with a turret board, this was before I started wrapping all turrets around the turrets

Re: Turrets vs Eyelets
I use eyelets and turrets.
On the Orange Retro OD50 board I am using both types. That way I can route components over the lower eyelets. I have even used two sizes of turrets with eyelets on a board. (The layered look)
It does get confusing and some times have to drill out a mistake

yes
I have used the Michael's eyelets and they either have thinner walls than the
Mouser ones or the alloy is weaker. They tend to split if you are not real careful installing them. The Mouser one's are pretty solid in that regard. Mouser also has a nice variation in width and height as well.

Re: yes
Gnerally all of the craft eyelets are coated aluminum.angelodp wrote:I have used the Michael's eyelets and they either have thinner walls than the
