Any MI residents see the Chrysler Super Bowl commercial?

What did you think? I had a bunch of friends comment on how much they liked it. Yeah, it was a good commercial, but I couldn't help noticing that the only piece of blight Chrysler omitted was the huge crappy old building they left behind when they moved their HQ and ran to the suburbs. Instead of Eminem's song, they should have used the roar of a vacuum as tax dollars, personnel and residents were funneled north.

And what's up with the car?? Chrysler doesn't even make cars in Detroit, save for the Cherokee. Come to think of it, Detroit only hosts two active final assembly plants. Period.

Kinda like that Ford GT40 promo clip that shows it being tooled around the city like it just came out of some factory on Woodward. They also pulled out decades ago and left the massive rotting 100 year old Model T factory still standing. No Detroit facilities. The stadium is nice, but I'd rather have a manufacturing plant.

I guess blight sells. Mebbe Detroit should copywrite their images of poverty so they can cash in too.

On a lighter note, at least Chrysler didn't end their commercial with "Hey, since you're watching...can we borrow $5??"

Sorry for the rant - too much coffee makes me post the wrong things in the wrong forums!

How come they didn't show "Automation Alley" - home of the long dead and buried business of supplying the Detroit big 3 with new technology?

Yeah, my friends have been posting this all over...they are all sooo proud of it....I think they should have worded it "Imported to Detroit" not from. I appreciate that they might be trying to make Detroit's image a little better to the rest of the world...but it'd be much nicer if they would come back, bring jobs to the city, and maybie be able to say MADE IN DETROIT once again.
