Sounds great!Bob-I wrote:What I did is built an amp with 3 channels. Since your plan has all the appropriate components you could do that too. My first channel uses Fender values, the second is an HRM and of course the 3rd is the OD. I use 2 relays for channel switching, the first switches between Fender and Dumble, the second switches between Dumble clean and OD.

Also the xfmr I'm planning to use (and order easily) http://www.musikding.de/product_info.ph ... cts_id=944 will power just 4 tubes. This xfmr is the smallest solution I could find and since there isn't too much space in the box I'd like to stick with it.

5 12AX7's... no only 3. One for the Fender channel and 2 for the Dumble clean and OD channel. I like the HRM OD channel myself, but I have an Hybrid that sounds great too.markusw wrote:Sounds great!
If I did the calculation correct this would be 5 12AXs.
So if you had to choose ONE clean channel and ONE complete (4 stages) OD channel, which of them would you take?

First I thought you build a 3 channel with both a complete HRM and a complete non-HRM. That's why I came up with 5 tubes. But actually that would then have been 5 channels....5 12AX7's... no only 3.
Anyway, I think I got you now

You mean a HRM to Hybrid switch?? How many relays would that need? Suppose somebody already checkedOne of these days I'll have to get creative and build in some switching options.
