Question bout cooking parts...

Hi again.. feel like i been posting alot lately:)

Tonights story and question.... tonight is the first time i have really cranked up my amp (dumble on bassman iron).. the thing sounds amazing on 10's but the downside.. i was working on making myself deaf.. and i saw a whiff of smoke.. from the OT area..i instantly shut down and started looking around.. can't find damaged parts and amp works fine.. What im curious about is this, when a OT fries does it physically get hot? or just windings inside melt and make smoke?

I ran it loud again for a few mins, but didnt get the smoke again.. the power tubes have some brown burn spots on them, kinda like finger oil that burned onto the glass, but i doubt it would make smoke like that.. was just a little whiff or 2 that i saw...

more than likely that was the SCREEN GRID resistor`s, if you CRANK IT, better put a MIN of 5 watter there, i have a HRM that HAS ta be cranked, if you DONT do this, you jes asking fer it!! hth`s, and it MAY NOT!! lol!!
