I'm a former UL Senior Lab Technician, the reason you don't see any amps listed with UL is because they're listed by CSA a UL competitor that was less expensive if I recall correctly...

UL Certification and Amps
Fender during its glory days of 1965 had UL Cert. but doesn't mean they continued the practice. That would cost moneyampdan wrote:My 1965 Vibrolux ReverbTheGimp wrote:I had our local Safety guy check the UL files he has access to and he can not find a single tube amplifier listed!![]()
I've also started checking Fender and other manuals and find no UL listings.
Can anyone produce documentation of a tube amp with UL Certification?

The Fender Twin Re-issues I've checked don't have a UL Cert.
I worked on a 1990s Fender Super 210 Serial No. LO-305550, all it had was for certification was a sticker from the Los Angeles Fire Dept. and CSA Canada.
but NO UL Certification:!:
So from what I can tell Fender stopped the UL Certification practice more than 20 years ago.
Most electronics consumer goods imported into the US West Coast have for many years the only the LAFD pressure adhesive stamps. More recently I see CE certifications (to sell in Europe) and sometimes CSA for Canada. And these imports are from countries that have UL offices. Yes, UL went offshore, too.
However, even with UL approval I would check into product liability insurance if you plan to make this a permanent income supplement.
Come to think of it I purchased a replacement door with a UL rating.
On the other hand houses burn down from electrical fires every year with UL approved wiring, etc. Just because a product has a certification doesn't mean it will used properly or safely.
Best Regards,
Steve

Only doors rated for fire will have the sticker.
And, in order for them to be fully rated the jam must be grouted with a fire proof grout such as plaster.
