Can a VVR be used to just regulate the screen voltage?
My next build may use TV vertical deflection type pentodes. These tube types can accept high voltages on their plates but if screens go over their published limits the tubes fail early. They sound good and are cheap.
The 807 transmitter tube can't take screen voltages above 300vdc, Bogen used 6AV5 tubes in some of their designs but they will redplate at voltages over 275vdc.

They can be used to regulate pretty much any voltage in an amp that you want to regulate.quayhog wrote:Can a VVR be used to just regulate the screen voltage?
