Good stuff. Matt is a stand up guy. He's got a small selection good for lower powered amps. I've got a couple of his OT's and at least one PT. You can't beat the price and for that price, you'll never beat the quality. There's no reason to hesitate. Whatcha waitin' fer?

The 20W SE OT sounded killer when paired with a KT88. Good iron for very fair prices. Haven't tried their power stuff but undoubtedly will when I need more small iron.

I used one of his big PP OT's on a 6L6GC 5E3 style build and everyone that played it had the biggest grin. Pull the trigger, you've nothing to fear.

I used one of his PTs to run a pair of 6V6s and four 12AX7s. I ran it hard and got it to hum and get toasty, but it held up well and is still going strong! hard to beat his prices and his lead time was quick!

I'm looking at his 275 volt PT for a two el84 build with an EF86 pre and a 12AX7 PI. Its rated at 100 mA

I've used several MPS units----- the OT40PP, Bandmaster/Tremolux/Vibrolux-sized OT with 4/8/16 ohm secondary taps is a great value----i used one in a 40-ish watt 2x10 combo channel switcher----the owner and everybody else likes that one, Brownface Fender clean and modded JCM 800 dirty channels--- Celestion G10 Vintage 60 watt speakers. I have another OT40PP on hand.
I've used the PT190--- some had buzzing problems, some didn't---i have a PT275 for some future build that requires a 100mA PT.
Not the hi-$$$$ "snob approved" iron but i've had generally very good experiences with it...................gldtp99

I used the 650VCT tranny. It was physically much smaller than I expected (even smaller than the amp's OT). It buzzes pretty good but it hasn't started smoking yet.

Good to hear about their bigger OT cuz I'm ordering one today.

If you guys are having buzzing problems, I suggest you should contact Matt at MPS. I think a) he'd like to know and b) just might make some accommodation. If you don't ask, you don't get.

I've exchanged email with him and he seems to be a really sincere and nice guy.

I'm using a set in an 18 watt Superlite. The PT is the 275-0-275 and runs cool. I have some vibration, but that's because of "less than ideal" recycled chassis. No complaints here. Customer service is excellent.

That circuit sounds like one Dartanion had out nice layout.

Also doesn't Ceriatone have an EF86 version out.

I've used a few sets with great results. Some of the PTs have seem to run a little on the warm side and I have noticed some vibration but they've never given me any problems.

I've had another set sitting here for a while (PT275.2 / OT20PP) waiting for some inspiration. Perhaps a 2-hole Rocket on the cheap.

Meh, heat doesn't scare me. I frequently use massive 100W PTs in much smaller amps and even they get warm.

I'm guessing the smaller size of the their PTs simply allows them to vibrate a bit more than the usual overbuilt Hammond variety many are used to. I didn't notice any significant voltage drops in voltage, so I'm not worried at all.

I wouldn't hesitate to use Musical Power Supplies products.
