We really need to get together. I think you will really like what I am playing through now. I knwo what you like and have played 183 several times. I can say with confidence you will be really impressed not only with that circuit build, but even more so with the high voltage MM amp and the Ojai. Plain sick....
Lets shoot for some type of gathering.
Thanks Scott. We will get together for sure. Just you and I, as it will be far better IMO. No one else. I am sure I will dig all of your amps. I really dig all of mine for what each brings to the table. I will bring them all down or drag yours up here. I will get you to like the emmy if its the last thing I do. Lol! (The 500K made all the difference in the world, moving the amp into the direction of what I think you like.) One big difference is I LOVE the Mesa 4/12, and use it almost exclusively now, where I know you hate it. You tried it when you were here. I remember the conversation well.... "Scott, that cab sounds GREAT with your Fuchs!" Scott: "What are you kidding me? That thing sounds like dogshit!"

Hey Structo,
I have a Quinulator from when I bought my first Quinn SDO. I have not tried it with this amp yet. I used it with my Dumble from time to time, but really like using the amp straight. The Dumblator smooths it a bit, but it compresses the tone as well. I love the real open sound of the Dumbles, and I do not use many effects, so I really dont use it very often. My Roomate has send and return levels, and it works real well on its own. I also use a Boss DD2 or DD3 now and then, and again, with the roomate and the delay, I find no real use for the Dulator. Whats odd is that I do not lose any (or very very little) high end even with a 10' cable going to and from the effects. Playing with them on and then yanking the cables out shows very little top end loss, if any. (At least as far as what your ear can pick up) By the way, I also tried a true Dumbulator with the tan Dumble at Ultrasound, and found basically the same thing. The same thing applied though, as I had very few effects. Reverb only IIR.
DAMN!!! Just looked inside the amp. Its like a frigging time warp. It seems EVERY part is NOS. (As it should be) The only thing I can see off the bat that is missing is that one monster sized cap Shad said he could not find. Beautiful work all the way through, just like my first Quinn. Absolute top notch.
CAKE with the Quinn 183 Clone and my Tele. One shot, all knobs at noon, except treble at 2 Oclock. Shads done it! (Talking levels!! Its 130 AM here and I cant stop playing this thing!!

Amp sounds very good and true to it's lineage. Congrats and many thanks to Shad and all those involved with sharing the info with us. I have 2 amps on my bench now. One is incorporating some info shared from this one.
Again, thanks and congratulations all around. Nice playing and tone in the clips as well Tag.
