I built this and am happy with the tone, but unhappy with the taper of the Master Volume. It almost instantly gets too loud. Any ideas what to do?
Here is the schematic:

BTW, here is a thread on the build:

Re: Weber 6S100
You've got a really big bright cap there on the volume so as soon as the volume's away from the zero point you'll be letting loads of high through the cap.
You could always try disconnecting one end of the bright cap temporarily to see how the volume performs after that. Then you can to decide whether you want a smaller value bright cap and a slightly darker sound at low volume or whether just to attenuate the signal.

"...unhappy with the taper of the master volume."
I'd imagine so. The schem calls out the master pot as being 1ML. I'm guessing the "L" is for linear, not logarithmic. How about replacing it with a 1MA (audio/log taper) like most other master volumes use?

Okay, just noticed that.
I was thinking it was the gain (Volume) control coming on too quickly, not the Master Volume.
If it's the Master Volume then definitely change the pot for a 1MA audio taper pot as a linear will be dreadful in this context.

Re: Weber 6S100
I changed the pot to a 1M Audio. That did it. Now the taper is more like most amps. I also removed the NFB bypass switch and wire. I use the amp for clean sounds or as a pedal platform. I seriously doubt I would ever use the NFB bypass. Now I am a happier camper...
