What should I build first?

so I've been doing more homework, searching my soul (had to buy it back first!), and I'm in! Let the Addiction begin!

first amp,
Obviously SE, preferably 10 watts min, not fussed about the tone stack, (none or really simple treble cut would be best), I've read that tube rectification isn't as important for tone on SE designs?, so SS i guess...
1 preamp tube, 1 power amp tube.

I'm fascinated by what I'm learning about using negative feedback to 'clean' up the signal; can anyone suggest a simple design that has a - feedback circuit? Not that clean is my thing, but I want to increase headroom/ control breakup if I can. A presence circuit is a feedback control yes?

Oh, And I promise I will stop posting such long, inane posts!! (even I get bored re-reading them, but only if I get some good answers!!)

That's a very good book for a beginner.
It properly introduces you to the components and their function in a tube amp.

Not sure if the amp kit is still available but the book is worth the price.

Also check the sticky thread with other reading material to self teach.

Ok, got the book on order, installed LTspice,

I guess I can add a feedback control later to the 2 stroke?

Victoria amps is selling some nice tweed chassis with faceplate on ebay too. More for the superamp though.

Thanking you! -swappable power amp tubes, nice...The KT 88 looks like a serious piece of gear; wiki says max 800 volts/42watts!!

These designs look like they will be great for learning the sound of different tubes.
