Newbie question re :txfmr tubes & logo

Post by paddy »

Hello guys
I am going to build an 18 watt version of the Liverpool and I'm hoping to get some help on the following questions.
I live in Australia and have limited access to parts.
With regard to output transformers,I can get any of the Hammond series as well as the Heyboer Marshall 18 watt the same goes for power trannies.i'm a bit worried using the Heyboer power tranny as it is 290-0-290v.Hammond have lower voltages but with lower current ratings.
Any opinions on the best current production EL84's
Also does anyone know where i can get a Trainwreck logo.

Many thanks in advance for any help/suggestions

cheers

I have built a few 18 watters. Lots of great info on 18watt.com The tone of the Hayboer OT is great - I would stay away from Hammond (I have one in a JTM45 that is pretty marginal)

As for EL84s, I enjoy the tungsols the mest. DrZ uses JJs. Sovtek are too glassy.
