I remember thinking Jane's Addiction Ocean Size had a great solo.
Any Jesus Lizard Fans?

An Ottmar Leibert show? It's one 3hr solo, technically fantastic, his finger skill is mind blowing.

Pink Floyd's "Time"

JH's "Little wing" "Bold as love"

Cream's "Crossroads" "White Room" "Tales of brave Ulysses" (Some Wah action on this one)

Oh yeah!
Duane is an old friend of mine. We were roommates, and actually played together for a while.
Cool guy, very interesting guitarist. Very unconventional. He's gonna hate me for this, but in the beginning he was playing through a Lab Series 2x12 combo, wasn't real happy with it so he asked me what I thought. I told him to get a Marshall or Hiwatt and crank it as loud as he could get away with.
Might be the best advice I ever gave anyone.

+1 on "Baker street" by Gerry Rafferty! Great solo! While I was trying to remember that one, another somewhat obscure solo came to mind...how about the solo on "Blinded by the light", by Manfred Mans Earth Band...

Buddy guy, whole intro to "first time I met the blues" not the album version, but from the 1970 movie Chicago Blues. You tube cut in half way through, but you get to see him playing it. Such a biting tone.

Van Halens hot for teacher

If you go on youtube and look up Jeff Heallys see the light he smokes. on some live shot. Looked like SNL or maybe some other late night show.

I saw Jeff Healey live twice. In fact I still have one of the ticket stubs for the first concert of his i went, sometime in 1996. Simply amazing player.

I met Jeff Healey 8)

I was located right in front him during the whole concert.

After the concert his bass player led him straight to me on the concert floor and said I'll be back with your beer Jeff. So needless to say I enjoyed that opportunity talking to the man.

Jeff drank cups of keg beer all night during his performance, his guitar tech would bring them out to the mike cup holder as fast as Jeff could suck them down and he would toss the plastic cups at the audience. :)

What a player and what a tone.
