I just placed an order for a chassis and some other odd & ends to start a request for a harp amp. If Ken takes a little longer than usual I'm not going to sweat it, nobody's life is depending on it.

I can't complain about Ken, completed order showed up today. The turn around was one week, end to end.

DIGIKEY!

Post by Structo »

Man, I gotta say, Digikey is fast!

I ordered some parts Monday morning and I received them today.
Priority Mail, but sheesh that's Minnesota to Oregon in two days.

BTW, they have the PEC pots for a good price.
I use the locking pots for bias adjust and they were $8.37 each.

For example, a linear RVN4 100K 2W pot is $8.01

I think I'll check with them first from now on.
Mouser is fast too but I ordered from them as well on Monday.
I'll get that order tomorrow. :D

Yeah, Digikey and Mouser rock. No sooner than I click Submit Order, UPS is showing up at the door! Well, maybe not that fast, but they are really fast.

Yes, Digikey is a great source for the PEC line and their prices on them are decent.

Called a few Radio and TV repair guys one day and they got pissed that I would bother them and what the hell do I want that value of caps and resistor for? :x

Local amp guru's all use on line ordering like I do.
I've turned into the default supplier to most of the amp builders around here. I usually don't have a huge stock of anything, but I'll get a couple of calls each week from builders and techs asking about availability for one part or another.

I even get calls from our local electronics (read: NTE supplier) shop every once in a while. The last one was for a 450V 22u axial electrolytic. They stock Mallory's, but they're asking about $15 each. They have the 1k 2-watt locking pots that I use for adjustable cathode bias amps. They want $40 each for those.

That said, I order all of my turret-board building stuff and chassiaix (I think that's the plural of 'chassis' ) from Ken and I've been very happy.
