You guys just don't appreciate fine art. :D

That amp may have very well been used on Box Car Willy's greatest hits.

Perhaps a new sticky thread is in order... How not to build/mod amplifiers and other aberrations.

It is like boobies. Really nice ones are irresistible, but no matter what they look like, you can't not look when they are on display.

I would rather enjoy seeing a thread like that makes to strive even harder not to end up with an amp looking like what we have seeing. :D

You have to know where to find pictures of stuff like this. Here is a hacked Marshall in the same vein. The pictures show the sort of restoration the amp deserved. If it weren't for how sad the hack job was, that part of it would be LOL funny. The restoration, IMO, shows a first rate amp build from A to Z and is a great example of how it should be done. Enjoy!

At least there are techs that will take on projects like this and return the amp to it's original state. :D

OK no pictures

Tom,
I think you have to take down the images. They are copyrighted material.

I wonder if Lee Jackson was the one that put the wall wart in there?

Clever

That's actually not such a bad idea. Any decent regulated wall wart can supply you with cheap but pretty clean power, perfect for heaters and such. The good ones are meant to be able to operate at elevated temperatures without a significant voltage drop and the entire thing is encased in plastic so you have no worries about shorts ever..
