Fender Twin Choke DC Rating?

Post by David Root »

Anyone know what the DC volts rating is? I want to use one around 520Vp to 500Vs. The specs all say 4H 90mA 90 - 100 ohms but I never see the DC rating.

Since they are used in BF Showman etc at up to 470Vp I am assuming I can push that a bit, but you know what they say about "assume".......

The Hammond 500V rated chokes are all rather large and I would have a very tight fit between a Hammond 278CX and an old Bassman 100 OT, given that I also have to get a Hammond 167L12 heater supply in there too.

No published voltage ratings. I'd say 500V working, 600V max considering the materials and build for Woodward-Schumacher sourced Fender parts.

Thanx FYL, that helps a lot. Now I have to assume that Heyboer, Magnetic Components and/or Mercury Magnetics make the same quality today.

Yeah that can not be right sorry that's what this guy listed in the BOM.
