Hi.
I got a DRAKE 783-257 output tranny few years ago for very cheap.
I could not find hardly any info about it.
Anyone know which Marshall models used that transformer?

Re: DRAKE 783-257 output transformer?
ok I'm not 100% on this but what I can find it's a 50watt version with 2 taps used in canadian marshall Bass 1986
someone else pulled a Drake transformer from a JMP50w (1983). It's not the standard 784-139 but a 783-257, with only two secondary taps (4/8 or maybe 8/16 ohms?).

Thanks.
I was told by the seller that it could be from 50W JMP model from eighties or nineties, but he wasn't sure because he couldn't remember exactly.
You're right selloutrr, it has only two secondary taps.
Well either it's from bass amp or from JMP I think that it would be good for any 2xEL34 project.

I think you got it wrong breakfastbuddy. My Drake is output transformer not Power transformer.
Sometimes good things happen to honest people. I already found use for that iron.
Just scored an old swedish PA-amp for very cheap. Came with 2x12 cab
made of 1" thick solid pine, loaded with old celestion G12-M 25W blackbacks.
The amp has 2xEL34 output stage, but the OPT has only 50V line output...
So the Drake fits perfectly there.
The amp has still original telefunkens inside. 2xEF86 1xECC82 1xECC83 and 2xEL34.
If it sound good stock i'll leave it that way, just do the basic maintenance: replace caps, check resistors, clean pots etc.
If it don't, its more than a nice building platform for any guitar amp I have ever wanted to build.
There are some pictures of similar amp. Not the one I bought, but same model and similar condition.
I love the aesthetics of those old "petrol-heater" look-a-like amps:
