Meet Debbie - my newborn.
A humble effort, but mine own. She sounds better than she looks.
From crystal clarity & definition to rip your face off roar.
I'm sure I'll want to tweak her some more in the future, but for now tube rolling and playing sounds like a good plan.
Many thanks to all here for your help.

Cabs
Thanks Tom. The cabs are 60's Sansui Hi Fi speakers. They do look different. The front lattice was a real PIA to clean up.
I gutted them & mounted a G12H30 & G12M20 in each. One front loaded & one rear mounted - wasn't big enough to do otherwise. Open back about 1" from the wall right now. They will have semi open backs when I find the time... they sound good, so it'll probably be a while before I get to it.

Oops - you probably meant the head cab.
It's a drawer from Susquehanna Valley Woodcrafters.
They're the guys the Woodcraft stores have make them when you order.
Even better pricing when you go direct.

Nice clean build. I like the resistors directly on the can cap idea. It really takes a lot of wire out of the power supply.

Well I did mean the head cab, so that's a drawer cab huh?Bob S wrote:Thanks Tom. The cabs are 60's Sansui Hi Fi speakers. They do look different. The front lattice was a real PIA to clean up.

Still looks real nice.
Now that you mention the Sansui speakers I swear a kid I knew years ago had those same stereo speakers along with a Sansui receiver.
You were able to fit 12's in those?
I'll bet they sound good together.

Nice Job! How you enjoy it!
Sansui Speakers
Thanks for the good comments guys. I like to figure things out for myself whenever possible. This means I spend a lot of time fumbling around in the dark...
I've learned a lot from you guys.
Tom - here's a pic of how I shoe horned in 2 x 12s. Not easy, but they look cool to me.

Looks good Bob, I like the use of can caps instead of cap stack.
The front valance is upside down though? I use those wood drawer kit cabinets myself.

Cool amp! I am really digging the way you fit the speakers in with a combination of front and rear loading, great idea! Phil

OK - here's a Rocket clone I recently finished. I need to re-do the front valance & face plate... I'd realy like to add reverb too. The 4 x 12 has JBL D123's - I realy like them for clean to slightly mean. Like hens teeth to find good ones.
Mark - thanks for the heads up on the Express valance - sometimes I get too close to things & miss the obvious.
