Which is right on Express

Post by populartsl »

I was looking in trainwreck files at the layout

https://tubeamparchive.com/files/tw_exp ... 18_635.pdf

and noticed it shows the switching tone caps connected to the right hand contact of VR4 but in the pic 9 in - Part 1 (42MB .zip) on this page

https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=19

it shows the switching tone caps connected to the center contact of VR4.

Which is right or is it just me.

Cheers Karl

they both are right. Notice the note at the bottom of your first layout. Francesca was an earlier express and has the bright switch wired a little different than later models. Most agree the first layout to be superior. Try them both.

I don't go with either one anymore and prefer the DPDT switching.
