Oh snap, that's too funny. Coincidentally, my dad just gave me a German made tube radio that's nearly identical to the one in the vid. It works great and it's now my main source of entertainment in my soldering cave! So far, I've resisted the temptation to pull the back off and see what's under the hood...

I sure wish I knew tubes were going away when I was a kid.
I would have bought a boat load.

Keep waiting to stumble upon a huge cache of some old tech's with nothing but 12A*7's and 6L6's, 6V6's EL34's in it.
The one time I did see a bunch of tubes at a garage sale, I don't think I recognized one tube, all tv and RF transmitter tubes.
Certainly nothing I could use.
