I need to repair my Marshall amp. Just before I stick my hand into the amp can anyone tell me whether the amp has 'bleeder resistors' or not, please?
In other words do the capacitors "empty" themeselves or will I need to bleed them manually before being safe to touch?
If not how do I make the amp safe before beggining work?
Many Thanks

JCM2000's are not a friendly amp to work on. I've been inside more then I care to.
Personally bleeder resistors or not I never work on an amp before I know for sure the caps are discharged.
If you are not an experienced tech I don't recommend you work on this amp.
if it's a pop during power on/off or has intermittant crackling other then tube related. it's a design flaw in the narrow traces on the PCB and near impossible to fix without very creative rewiring and an extensive understanding of how the amp is built.
you can contact Marshall for your local service tech threw Korg's website they are distributors for Marshall in the USA

Selloutrr,
Please consider this an intervention.
threw/through
I threw the cat out the window. The cat went all the way through the window. I am through throwing cats through the window although I may throw a pair of socks out the window. Then I am through with throwing things.

I think the same goes for just about any moder high power PCB based amp. Start small so you don't hurt yourself when you inevitably slip up!
