relocating switches on power amp

I have a Peavey 60/60 6l6 power amp. Apart from the power and standby switches on the front panel, all the sockets and pots are on the rear panel - which makes the rear the more useful to have facing forward. I would prefer to have the switches on the 'rear' too so they are accessible with everything else.

Can you think of any potential audio or emi issues I might cause by running the power to the back? I'm thinking of removing a couple of the many unused jack sockets and mounting the new switches in their place.

It depends upon proximity, look at whats closest to your intended new location.
If its right next to say the input it might not be a good idea.
Twist the AC wires, at least, you might want to consider running the wire through
a braided metal tube, grounded, if their in a location that has the potential
of creating issues.

I bought a rack mounted power distribution box for about $20 from PartsExpress for my studio. It has a separate rocker switch for each plug. This allows me to just power up the gear I need for any given task and to easily power things down when I am done without climbing behind the racks.

I could use that approach now but, without wishing to rehash old arguments, I would like to have use of the standby switch.
