Orange Drop Identification Help..

Post by JamesHealey »

I've got some OD's here and i'm not sure of the values.

The following is printed on them:
715p 600v
103J 0407

I suspect these are either 47nF or 10nF

I also have some 2n2 caps but I'm not sure if these are polyester or polyprop.

M235 MP6222
0.0022uF 5% 600 DC

any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

103 is .010000 uf or as you say 10 nf or 10000 pf.
715p is the cheaper polypropelene version, j is the % of accuracy which is 5% I believe... maybe not.

103J 0407
First two digits: value
Third digit: multiplier, base is pF
Letter: tolerance

103J = 10 nF (10E3 pF) ±5% (J)

0407 is the YYWW production code.
M235 MP6222
0.0022uF 5% 600 DC
No specific info. MP6 usually designates metallized polyprop.

Cap Values

DUH ! Sorry James - I should have marked them. Just grabbed some values from drawers that looked to be stuffed.
