Hello

Post by Ace Carson »

Hello everybody!

I have just arrived at the ampgarage, so I thought it would be nice to introduce myself.

I`m 21, I live in a town near moscow, Russia. When I was a kid I attended local technical hobby centre on the subject of radiodesign. The volunteer teacher tought us the basic precaution measures, told us how to solder, unsolder parts and boards, read schematics etc. He also was a good person and wanted us to develop and adopt a kind of a technical culture in everything we`ve done. So the green light lit up
At that time I`ve become a meloman which I still am now.
Then there were my very good English teacher who tought me courses, that allow me to teach and translate professionaly, and more importantly, to understand the music I love more.
Later on I`ve graduated from school, and now I`m a bachelor at Moscow Aviation University on the IT engineer profession.
I`d been playing the guitar for four years by now, and I don`t really find my profession as interesting as my musical hobbie. I write songs, compose music an play a lead part for our blues band here in my hometown. And yes, I find music to be my true life purpose.
That is why it was a matter of time before I blow the dust off my solder iron and prepare to build me an amp.
I`ve been around our fine Russian DIY community for two years already. I`ve made some drafts, a champ, a couple of JCM800s, a deluxe reverb, and now it is time for me to make an amp with my own tone. Long search and numerous discussions led me to Trainwreck. And I think I`ll find many interesting people and opinions here along with the precious knowledge of how to build a counterpart for my 81' Ace Frehley LP replica.

Cheers, Ace. :D

Welcome aboard Ace.

When I saw Moscow under your avatar I thought perhaps Moscow, Idaho USA where I was born but I see that isn't the case. :)

Sounds like you have already been having a lot of fun building amps and playing. 8)

Hi, so I see that we got a lot i common, I'm 21 too, play 4 years as well, and I'm studing electronics and I'm meloman too.

By the way, I didn't knew that "meloman" is not familiar word in US (but seems to be common in central/east Europe)

Haha, thanks. Seems so. I worked really hard at this, though it kinda went easy for me. I teach English here for a couple of bucks here and there.
Next summer I plan to fly to US on the Work&Travel program, so I think my English might help.
