The Old Flame is basically Allen's take on the AB763 Super Reverb. Single channel, no vibrato. Glorious fenderish '60s sound with enough ooomph for stage apps.
Really nice amp, and well worth a build.

meyers sound
I'm really looking for some thing close to the sound meyer is getting out of his 2rocks.I plan on running it parallel w/ my liverpool clone both on 2x12s as the live half of my rig the other half being my 2 plush royal bass half stacks that my pedal board runs.does any one have any suggestions on how to lean it in that direction?been looking for 2rock schems or gut shots for a while dont seem to be too many around. I think he's said he is using the 2rock custom reverbs. any help is greatly appreciated as many here are much more experienced than I.I know one amp is not the other Im just looking to nudge it in that direction . please help thanxxx

Well if you like the tone of the Flame amp you could use that as your clean channel and then use a more typical Dumble OD channel for your OD.
Dumbles first two stages are similar to Fender for the clean channel.
Then he uses the second tube for the OD. When in OD mode the four stages are cascaded for the overdrive.
If you want just a clean amp I would suggest you just build the Flame then use another amp or pedals for your OD tone.

Don't use the Raw control, us one tube reverb no dwell, tone, mix control in the reverb section and add the ODS OD circuit.
Use large PT 100w or whatever your donar amp is and beef up the filter caps.
Since it is a donar amp and not an Allen amp might as well just build the #124 ODS, right
Or the BrownNote 6L6 D'lite.
For a great Fender sound build the Rocket Reverb with 6L6/EL34 power section and add a switch to add a bias cap to v1b for more gain but you may not like so hence the switch is used.

ODS in a flame
I dont think I'm ready for a dumble my lead dress isnt that great.I am looking for that type of sound without so much wiring I will have to look at the #124 shcem an see what can be aplied . the half stacks I have take care of my clean sound and I have some great pedals but I'm looking for a more dynamic natural amp dist. to keep up w/ my liverpool only smoother .I am thinking I may be looking at the wrong amp . SUPER THANXXX for the help guys w/o this site I'd still be playing a peavy maybe I'll get brave and try a d'lite

lumox,
There was a guy Ontariomax who posted a stripped down lead only channel, no switching, schematic a year or so ago. Maybe pm him or search for details. I think it would do what you are looking for.

Can you link the thread?
I couldn't find it.
Basically if you only want the overdrive channel, it's still going to take two tubes or four stages to do it right.
You just wouldn't have the switch or relay to turn off the second tube.
I still think your best option is to build a D'lite type amp.
Great cleans, and great overdrive.
I built one so anyone should be able to.
When I look at the Old Flame schematic, it looks busier than the D'lite does.

your d'lite layout is dif. If i did build I think that it would be a 124. but my chassis is not realy suited as it has no sides i would have to mess w/ the layout and that never works for me heres the link for that other thread but its quite old.https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... ght=#21061
I realy do like the layout on the old flame maybe it woud sing if you kranked it

Re: back log
That is because that layout is tweaked towards running 6L6 power tubes.lumox0013 wrote:your d'lite layout is dif. If you want to use 6V6 use the original layout.
