Austin amp show
I see Brandons going to be there. Anyone else coming? Wonder if we could get some of us amatuers together and compare or creations somewhere. Im registered at the hotel Saturday night, but I'm not sure if they would allow me to bring an amp into the hotel without being a registered vendor. I don't want to sell anything, I'd just like to get some feedback on my amps.

I'll be there. My room is Tonic Amps & Fane.
As far as bring amps into the hotel, I'm sure it's cool, you just can't open your room up during the show hours for demos. After hours there will be parties and such, so you can do it then.

Re: Austin amp show
Makes sense, I'll look you up. You think the hotel puts all the people asking for the amp show room discount in the same area in anticipation of late-night jam sessions?

From what I gather, the Austin show is going to be a bit more friendly about jam sessions and such than the LA or NY shows have been. Last I spoke with Loni, he stated that the Embassy Suites there in Austin is welcoming the show with open arms, so this should prove to be one of the better venues for it. The discounted rooms are nice, and you'll be able to hang out with lots of builders and players.txbluesboy wrote:Makes sense, I'll look you up. Well, Austin is more laid back than NY or LA. Sounds like it will be fun!! I'll try to sneek my version of the SSS in.

I got gigs on Saturday but might drive up from Beaumont for Sunday. It would be a tossup between the Amp show and Little Ginny's chicken sht bingo

That sucks Cliff! But look at it this way, there is always next yearCliff Schecht wrote:I'll be stuck in Lubbock.

If you have never been to one of these events, I highly suggest going. Even if I was not a builder, I'd do my best to hit all these shows. Where else can you check out 50+ boutique builders offerings with your own guitar, and have the freedom to play at whatever volume trips your trigger.

Re: Austin amp show
I can't really even afford the trip to Austin right now.. It would be nice to see friends and the parents as well. Just make sure to take plenty of pictures so I don't feel like I missed out so much!

It was really Great to meet Dartanion and hear some really fine Amplifier sounds. The liverpool had the magic swell, notes and chords took on a life of their own. The Fanes are super speakers too! Also, It was a pleasant surprise to also meet Ron Worley, the genius behind the Trainwreck Data/Build files and Diagrams.
Oh, and thanks for the Shiner .

Looks like a good time.
That's a cool guitar Lance is playing in that top shot - what is that?

Re: Austin amp show
It was a blast. I enjoyed meeting dartanion and Ron Worley, it's nice to put a face to the names. I somehow didn't get introduced to you billyz, hopefully next time. I got to talk with Brandon while I was there, he's really a nice guy in person, you might not get that from some of his recent posts, but he really is. Unfortunatly I think there were more exhibitors than spectators there, hope they try it again next year!
