12" Celestion Relic 30s

Post by Hound Dog »

What is your opinion about 12" Celestion Relic 30s? They are on sale for 50 bucks each at GC. At that price it seems hard to go wrong. It would be good to have for experimenting with.

Thanks

took a chance and bought one, only 16 ohm was available. put it in a small 1 twelve cab and thought it sounded great. ive been playing for 30 yrs. and ive got numerous celestions, vintage 30s,greenbacks and i think it sounds alot like v 30.no buzzy cone breakup like some of the other cheap celestions(rocket 50, yuck). even w/ the imp. mismatch seemed very efficient, imho. pleasantly surprised.

Hi
I was wondering about those as well. Below is a cut and paste of an email direct from Celestion.

The Relic 30 is a limited edition speaker we created specially for Guitar
Center.

Its got a 50 oz magnet and is rated at 60W power handling / 100 dB
sensitivity.

Hope this helps,

The Celestion team.
