Thanks Andy

I've got this tranny set from an old console stereo--it ran two pairs of EL84s--and I've been toying with building two separate 18 watt 'Wrecks in one chassis. I could have a Rocket and a Liverpool that were independent, including the rectifiers, and use an A/B/Y switch for them. I'd to it as a head for use with a stereo speaker cab.

Your work feeds my fantasy....
That sound pretty cool. 8) Quit toying and get er done. Keep us posted on the progress on that one.

Here is a couple of pics of the completed amp. The guy I built it for requested a red cab. He is going in the studio next month and I wanted to get it finished so he could use it . Hopefully I'll get a good recording of the amp :D

Didn't Richie build one with 6v6's?
How'd it sound?
I'd like to build one with 2 KT66's and VVR.
Thanks for sharing, Dana. You are a true artist and a gentleman as well.

Thanks LeeMo

Richie was going to build one with 6v6s but he is slacking on us  Just Kiddin. He has been very busy with a number of builds for other people and hasn't had any play time. I did change the layout a little on this one and mounted all of the caps and resistors on the board instead of a couple to ground lugs on the tube sockets. It made for a neater install and was a little easier to mount everything on the board. This is a very time consuming build :o . I delivered it to the new owner and he tried it out for the first time last night at his band rehearsal and was pleased. The other guitar player in the band was playing through a Egnator 30 and was always drowning out the owners Deluxe reverb. That didn't happen last night  Can't wait to hear some studio clips of the band.

i'll post a few pics, don't want to go too off topic on Dana's thread of his amp. I still have the chassis, and a few other things for one of dual wreck amps, all but the time..lol

the amp below was a joint project. a guy wanted to build a tube amp for his son for christmas. Or i should say, he did the cab, which i gave ideas for. And I built the amp. it started out as a Tweed super using octal 6SC7, 2x 6L6s and a 5U4. Once i built it, i gutted it and started over, something that would fit and something with more gain, and still use the 6SC7, and make it still all fit on the board [somewhat].
Imagine the early Trower tone. At least thats what it reminded me of.
has 2 channels, and i used a deal pot for the tone control.
So basicly, its a blend of a few things all twisted together, and was real suprised how it turned out,or sounded..
its using 2 10" Jensen Tornado Neo's. And loves pedals..
I've since came up with a few more ideas for this amp.

Thanks a Lot! Still scratching my head wether to embark on this mission - not that I'm afraid of the build, but if it's the right option....
Got most of the parts except the transformers and some EL84s...but the delinquent himself ( my son ) is still doing his conscription army duty, so I still have some time to decide - rather he has to decide... :-)

It is a pretty complicated build. I refined a few things on the second amp and got all the components installed on the board intead of hanging the 1meg resistors from ground to the tube grids off of the tube sockets. It is a very time consuming build. The local guy who bought the amp wanted to try all three of the TW models to figure out which one he wanted so I loaned him my Rocket,Liverpool and Express for him to try out during his band practice. He brought the amps back and remarked how much he liked the Liverpool and Rocket. He then went on to explain that if I could figure out a way to build a amp with both Liverpool and Rocket channels in one amp then I would really have something. I smiled and told him I had already done that. I called my friend that bought the first amp and borrowed it to give to the second guy to try out at his next band practice. He called me during practice and said that it was exactly what he wanted and placed the order. They are going in the studio again in a week or so and is going to use the amp on there new song so I will try and post some clips when they get it finished.
