Dana has built a few of the combos in the past few years.
Is adding reverb concidered T-wreck sacrilege?
I guess no more than adding trem.. Besides, i think Ken would have rather seen people experimenting and trying many different things..or trying new twists.
Its fun to build the more exact clones of the wrecks, but even more fun to try doing different things. And here lately this is what i have been seeing on the forum.
Allyns 80 watter.. trem,reverb,2 channel amps,combos,ef86 pre's, turning fenders into wrecks..etc..
In Mark Abbots letter from Ken, Ken said something like, what have you done to improve the amp..or make it better..something like that..
Sometimes trying these new things, you may find, yeah this don't work or sound right.. but other times you may find ..wow this sounds really good..

I myself, really like seeing the ideas spark up.

Finally got around to looking into a layout for this one.
A couple of questions, though..
First tube is shared as input for both channels. Does anyone see any preferences in the next two - one tube for each channel before going to the PI, or combining the next stages in one tube for each stage instead of each channel ... ??
Anyone else working on this?

I have finally gotten a few minutes to check out the forum. I wanted to post this some time ago but I just haven't been able to spend much time on line for the last few weeks.

I want to preface this video . If you check out the guitar player on the right of the screen, you should be able to see the white head behind him. Kenny bought the (Rocket/Pool ) Pegasus amp about a year ago and I thought you guys might enjoy some video of the amp in use. When I was gigging (about 25 years ago  ), I used to rent a hall, setup a big PA and lights, tap a keg and invite every musician I knew for a big jam nite on my birthday. This year, for my 55th birthday, I decided to revive the tradition and we had about 30 muscians show up and we just had a big jam session from 8pm until whenever (we quit about 3am  ) Yea, that's me on drums. We have a bunch of old geezers get together on Sundays in my basement and we invite Jose (Quervo) over and play a few hours every Sunday. 8)

The video is an old song from Deep Purple called Stormbringer and has a snipit of War Pigs at the end. For some reason the video camera turned off in the middle of the Sabbath tune.

Anyway, it's not great quality but maybe it will give you a little taste of what the amp sounds like. If you have trouble getting it to play try using Iexplorer instead of some of the other browsers out there.

:D Excellent performance Dana ! I myself am now 53 years old and going to a band gig tomorrow with my mates. We play samekind of music like you did in your video. When I was 15 years old in early seventies, I heard Paranoid and it changed my life. Now we have that song in our repertoire and play it in every gig that we do. I relly like to see and hear "old cats" rocking. It was also nice to see another lefthanded guitarist. I thouht that I am the only one. Harry

Thanks! Guys The dropped stick is kind of funny. The first extra stick I was able to grab was one of those mallets with the fuzzy balls on the end. (at least I grabbed the right end ) I actually had to switch the mallet stick out for another regular one while doing the intro to war pigs. I think everyone there had a great time. Friends, family, beer, food and music. My son plays in a band and they brought their lights complete with smoke machine and lasers. There was some kid running lights and I think he was more interested in the lasers than the bands

My son set his kit up and his band did a few songs together. Since we had both drum kits their we decided to do something with two drummers and picked Whippin Post by the Allman brothers. My brother joined in on guitar and I got to play with both my son, for the first time, and my brother. It was a pretty fun night.

Hey Billy, here is another one with a couple of songs from that Lil' ole band from Texas.

I love the old stuff too. Bill Ward is one of my favorite drummers. I always say that we play stuff that no one wants to hear but is a lot of fun to play. I was thinking the only two drummers older than me that are still playing are Charlie Watts and Ringo    .

My friend Dave is the left handed Guitar player He has a wierd style in that he takes a regular right handed guitar and flips it upside down with out re- stringing it. He was having trouble all night with his rig. One of his pedals had went out and it took him a while to find it.

I am just finishing up the channel switching installation on my second of these amps. I hope to have it finished this weekend. The guitar player in my son's band bought the amp and I am trying to get it ready for him to use in the studio on Feb 7th. Hopefully I will get some decent clips of the amp.

Very cool amp, Dana.

I've got this tranny set from an old console stereo--it ran two pairs of EL84s--and I've been toying with building two separate 18 watt 'Wrecks in one chassis. I could have a Rocket and a Liverpool that were independent, including the rectifiers, and use an A/B/Y switch for them. I'd to it as a head for use with a stereo speaker cab.

Your work feeds my fantasy....
