I'm considering throwing an offer on this thing. I need to do some more checking on fair value.

Hey Ted,

It's in the ballpark, but verification that it's correct is warranted.

Question... In all fairness... What happens when an original wreck need a cap job? Even if you find the cap it with originals what would that do to the sound and the market value? Just thinking you know...

MCK-
It all depends on whether you want to just "SHOW" the 'Vette or really "DRIVE" it...
As with all equipment, certain components are bound to wear out / fail over time; when I perform a cap-job on a vintage unit I try my best to use the same replacement parts as the original AND package the replaced components for the client to retain for the purpose of maintaining resale value. I'm sure you won't find many 30 year old amps with the original tubes or filter caps (that plays like the original, anyway!) When I put tires on my old 1970 HEMI 'Cuda for street driving, I certainly put the best tires on it I could afford, but kept a set of the original 'glass tires to put on or provide to the next owner to maintain the OEM provenance.
Sorry for the ramble,
Tom T ('sup, dart??)

Understood & agreed that this is inevitable.

'Cuda sounds amazing by the way. Must be joy to drive.

Here's what I have HUGE GAS for ...

I want one to drive... Not to show. One day soon.

Back on topic. Sorry about that.

Thanks Darin- Yeah- Clearly got Crystal Meth in my cornflakes. This is a collector piece. If I get serious- I'll ask him for some pertinent data to help verify and could use your help on the right questions.

Which of your models goes towards the EL34 Express? We need one down here!!

Hey Tom,

Dude! You never told me you had a 70 Hemi Cuda! That's my ultimate dream car. Post some pics if don't mind. Doing pretty well BTW. How about you?

Ted,

My Vapour 35 is my Express like amp. Although, the Absinthe is a single ended version of an Express style amp, but more aggressive in nature than a stock Express. I'd be happy to build one for ya

How's the D'Lite treating you? Or did you get the Blue Monkey?

I ordered a D'lite- Moss did a 4 socket 6v6 set up. Haven't taken delivery yet.

FWIW- I almost got a 383 Cuda back in the 80s- I opted for a 69 GTO- w/ 455. Redneck primer- the whole smash. Hood tach- Dixie Dregs cassette, apple Tree air Freshner.

Send me a cost and order deets on the Vapour 35 please.

Email sent Ted!

That's funny about the 383 Cuda. My dad was a huge MOPAR guy and got me hooked at a young age. When I was looking for a Cuda/Challenger, we looked at a 70 Challenger 383 Magnum, but my dad was too cheap to go for it. It was $1200 more than a nice 71 340 Challenger that we looked at, so he helped me plunk down for the 340. Still a cool as hell car, just not quite as rare and didn't have that guttural, evil big block MOPAR bark to it.

Back to Nancy. Even if parts have been replaced due to wear and tear, this is worth minimally about $25k. If she's all original and in good working order, the $37.5k is well within reason. I do recall that Matte has had it up for sale every year or so, so I don't really know how serious he is about selling her.

Put this all in perspective, you can buy yourself a sweet old MOPAR for the price of Nancy.

i owned a 69 roadrunner 383, 68 roadrunner 440..73 roadrunner it was a dog compared to the other 2. A 71 challenger. But the one i liked over all of them was the 67 dodge hemi RT..That car would peg the speedometer, and still have pedal left..

Knowing what they are worth now..

I'm sure many wreck onwers that sold or traded those amps, had no idea what they would be worth today.
