Re: NEW SPEAKER
Have anyone tested the Jensen Jet Tornado?
This speaker was released early 2009 (?) and should be an improvement of the neo series.

My experience with the neodym speakers is pretty much the same as
everybody else´s, if you go for real tone, try something else.
If the weight of EVs is an issue, I think the Eminence Red,White and Blues
is worth trying.I tried a Fuchs cab loaded with these, and was pleased.
Not the exact some tone as EVs, but in the same direction, maybe a little more forgiving than EVs.

Re: NEW SPEAKER
The amp is not anything even close to a Dclone so it doesn't belong on this forum - not even an overdrive section.bluesfendermanblues wrote:
Henry, You've made an amp for Joe Louis Walker!! He's one of my favorite guitar players - espcially the tones on the live album with '747' (Chorus: "....she took a 747, Greyhounds mooving much too slow").
What kind of archtecture did you use? 100K non-hrm?
It's my current take on a Tweed Front end and cathode bias. The design goal here was 50 pounds in a rolling roadcase. I'm using a SKB rollx 5 space as the roadcase.

Very neat amp Henry!
That mode switch looks never interesting. I see the presence has an "off" notch. Does that disengage the NFB?

Re: NEW SPEAKER
Heheheh, it's a pot that doesn't have any resistance tracing on the end of the travel so when it is on that it's like the pot isn't in the circuit.
They are used for tone pots on guitars sometimes.
So I take it, that is not what you are doing there.

I like the Tornadoes - I think they sound a bit like greenbacks - they certainly arent hurting for low end!
I love my rail tone amp!

From Ceriatone Forum re OTS
While looking (unsuccessfully) for an Altec 417-8C frequency response curve I happened upon this "10 Best" list by "Pickmaster". Says he works for an amp cabinet maker and has AB'd many speakers in many cabinets 1x12, 2x12, open and closed back.
So maybe he knows whereof he speaks.......?
1. Fane AXA 12 Alnico
2. EV
3. Jensen Jet Tornado
4. Celestion Gold
5. Tone Tubby
6. Celestion Century
7. Celestion Century Vintage
8. Celestion G12-65
9. Eminence Wizard
10. Eminence Cannabis Rex
I thought this was quite thought provoking!
What say ye?

That list does not seem right to me.
It is missing the FANE Studio 12L...
