I am waiting on a new pot now. Popped in a 10K resistor in its place just so I can play for a bit.

So yes very behaved. Compared to other amps I have or have built the noise level is no issue. Little microphonic but it doesn't take over the amp, great range of tones having the VVR, and cut control included.

For the VVR, I put 220K resistors to hopefully avoid adding the cap/resis on the grids but I still get some noise on the volume pot. So decisions there to make

Tone wise I just need to start going thru my tube stock. I only have JJE34L for EL34s and they sound...bluesy. Need to look into other brands. It doesn't seem to mix well with the grind of the amp.

I also have KT88, KT66 any reason why I couldn't try those?

Anyway, Thx for the help. Time to get to know this puppy, zone in on a good tube speaker combo...and build a cab

Another one for my collection...

Thx

Just coming back around...yup the pot fixed it all is good now. Finally got a cab together, my little red devil

Covered in leather, lite the faceplate with LEDs, renamed things to be a bit creative.

Anyway, another cab design idea to feed the pool.

Thx
again

The amp was used extensively on The Jack Mazzenga's Space Trio's latest album mastered through my www.iMaster-studios.com shop

Check them out. Killer player. Perfect sustaining amp match for glass neck guitar!!

That amp topography with a VVR makes it sing!
