I ordered a set a month ago, so they are definitely available.

They are $177.44 total for both PT/OT. I don't remember the price for each.

I just called them at 1-800-325-0501. I talked to Amy.

And BTW, I lied. I did have the cost per unit on file;

PT 25475 $98.29
OT 25525 $79.15

I sent an email to Pacific and told them I wanted two (240vac) power transformers and two output transformers I received no reply. I dare say my order wasn't big enough!

Pooling Pacific tranny set orders?

Same thing, Mark. I sent them an e-mail order for an export PT (230V primary) plus OT last week and did not receive an answer so far.
Due to excellent experiences of Funkaliciousgroove (thanks for sharing your insights, Brandon!) I ordered a chassis from Nik at Ceriatone.com with Pacific mounting holes (OT is slightly narrower than Heyboer's). Hope Pacific will deliver the matching trannies.

What about pooling orders, Mark? Anybody else? Maybe we can motivate Pacific through a bigger order.

I am living in Munich, Germany.
How about you?

DoctorD02: thanks for your suggestion. Sure, I could call them up, maybe best after the Christmas holidays.

Also, I just e-mailed Mark down under. Maybe there are more builders out there who want to join us in a Pacific order?

Pooling Pacific transformer orders

Post by BluzMike »

So far we have pooled 5 sets:

Export version(230V/240V) PT and OT:
2 sets Mark
2 sets myself

Domestic version (117V) PT + OT:
1 set Brandon (Funkaliciousgroove)

Anybody else interested in ordering from Pacific with us?

BluzMike - You mentioned that OT mounting holes are slightly narrower. Do you have the dimensions on the mounting holes for both the OT and PT? I might be interested in a domestic set if I don't have do too much drilling to make it fit.

Madrid, Spain.

I need to think about it, the prize of the transformers set is nice compared to other brands, but importing stuff from USA to EU is highly charged and taxed due to UE protectionist tendencies. This could easily reach the 250€ range, depending on the shipment methods offered by Pacific. Insurance and shipment costs are also charged with VAT by UE customs, as well as the items.

A question about shipping. Being a single order will it be shipped to every single buyer, or just the bulk to you? This will increase the shipping costs even further...

The only difference in mounting holes is on the OT, where the distance between the holes on the two bell cover sides (center to center) of Pacific's is 2.25 instead of Heyboer's 2.125 (E on the Heyboer plan).
At the same time Pacific specifies 2.25 +/- .040, so their OT should even fit the Heyboer holes.

So welcome on board, Omar ;-)

I will check with Pacific and then come back to everybody interested so far before placing a final order in the second week of January.
