Good Video

Post by gahult »

Here is a video I would like to share.
It is long 11 1/2 Min.
Not music or amp related.
It is a small tribute to our veterans.

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,

Great video and the ending was what I expected.

One thing about working for the VA I see the veterans taking care of each other and us VA employees take time to talk to our veterans. But I think that is Fargo thing. Small community with good ethics. Probably not the normal thing you find in larger VA facilities.

Thanks for sharing. I am emailing this to my co-workers and some veterans I know.

I was listening to the news the other day and caught the tail end of a story that was saying that the vets from Iraq may have to use private insurance for their injuries?

Like I said, I caught just the tail end of it so I don't know if this has been implemented yet but if it is true, that is a very shameful thing to do to our vets.

I don't know if that is possible, as you will find few if any insurance providers that will cover a pre-existing condition.

But, I am pretty sure that if that comes up as a possibility there will be a "movement" from all veterans and veteran organizations that would be unparalleled to prevent it.

Hopefully backed be all loyal Americans that have been afforded the freedoms provided by their service to their country.

Thanks,

Gary

No this is the real scoop.

Veterans care is free for service connected disabilities, those with low income on VA pension (non-service disability) and new veterans for a period of up to three years, I think, it changes so often.

VA fought private insurance companys back in the 1980s to bill insurance companys for care given to non service connected treatment. The VA recovers millions of dollars each year from this and helps offset the cost to the public to operate the 182 hospitals and countless out based clinics across the US. This billing of private insurance helps the veteran as it pays for your yearly deductible really fast.

Well some idiot thought that it would be ok to bill the non service connected returning veteran's insurance as they are not actually receiving treatment for a service connected disability; however, it was mandated by congress that the new veterans get free health care for 3 years. Of course if you are service connected/have a disability from the service and your claim was approved as service connected (you have to file a claim folks) then your care is free and VA does not bill your insurance.

Even if the VA did bill your insurance you do not pay the unpaid balance such as when you go to your private health provider.

The whole story is just that a story. If you want to know what is really going on with veterans go to work, volunteer or come to a VA. Or join any one of the multiple veterans organizations.

Yeah congress threw it out yesterday after the VFW yelled at them.

I couldn't believe it when I heard about that.

The admin is trying so hard to wring money out of us it ain't funny.

Now Obama is saying that the working class tax cut will be reduced.
Are there any campaign promises left that he hasn't broken?

From my posts you probably realize that I work for the VA in the Benefits Section VBA.

What CNN doesn't tell the public when yelling about the drastic increase in Federal employment hiring is: The whole Federal work force had 47% of the employees eligible for retirement and many many left. This is due to the baby boomers are at retirement age and past. These federal workers have minimum of 25 years of service and most well over 30 years of service so I don't see anything wrong with them retiring. This is all agencies including unemployment and SSA offices.

Of course there is government hiring as there should be. I am telling you we don't have too many employees right now we need more, there is plenty of work believe me. The days of overpaid underworked government workers has long since passed.

And for all you vets out there, you can't find a finer man than our Mr. Fowler... He helped understand the rather confusing labyrinth of steps required to file my VA disability paperwork. Mark, you are the man!

:!: :!: :!: :!:

I've dealt with the local Fort Worth, TX VA clinic and they seem pretty personable, I hope that every vet gets the same help that I have so far. To even consider the denial of coverage to vets is unconscionable, I wonder what congressional staff dipshit came up with that idea....

Thanks Ron,

If anyone needs help with VA benefits for yourself, family members or friends contact me and I will be glad to help. I will give you my direct VA email address once you have contacted me. But due to strict ethics I cannot act as an Agent of the VA, (representing VA in this Forum), you understand, right   8)
