Actually, the amp was quite bright. Too much. I changed the CL2
coupling cap from .02uF to .05uF and things fattened up quite a bit.
Still bright on the clean channel though. The side effect of this change
was (to my ears) that the mid boost now makes the amp too dark and
undefined. I recorded the C minor clip with it on by accident
The recording is also darker than the amp was in the room. I guess it's
my recording technique (which equals none). The AT2020 helped brighten
things up but I thought it was too much.

I made some changes to my amp. I increased OD1 coupler from .002 to .004 by putting a second .002 in parallel. I also lowered the first dropping resistor from 22K to 10K which increased the V1 voltages from ~ 170 to ~190. I also replaced the preamp tubes with some nicer well tested tubes. I need to cut another clip.
The speaker is really good. I didn't like it too much with my tweed style
amps (Champ is ok, tweed Tremolux turns lifeless in comparison to the
alnico Weber).
My plate voltages are around 185 on V1 and 192 on V2, sometimes less
depending on wall wart voltage and tube. I'm using JJs all around and one
oddbal 12AX7 which does not sound good in any amp I've tried (Miniwatt)
but it's ok here. I have to order tubes soon....
Post the clips when you record it. It's nice to hear other amps.
