DIY pedal clip

Since I started back in school full-time this fall, money's tight for the wife and I. I've been jonesing for an HRM, but I know it won't happen for a while....

I knew this would happen, so about in about June, I started to work on a pedal, from scratch (no modded Tube Screamers, MXR Dist+s, or ROG designs) to try to capture what I could from the HRM type circuit.

Someone is oddly interested in buying one, and asked if I could make a clip, so here it is.

Its my PRS Standard 22 (Virtual Hot PAF in bridge), into the pedal, into my D'Lite clean channel only. I normally run Bright when clean, but left it off for the clip. Cabinet is a 2x12 with Celestion G12-65s. I have a TC Electronic Nova Delay in the loop set at about 400ms. SM57 close-miced and condenser about 4 feet back. Home volume.

Care to divulge any more details? Several FET stages? Any diodes for clipping?

2 things. I love it if you'd share the details with us, sounds very nice. I like the way it blooms and sings, and not too much SS harshness.

As for wanting an HRM, the D-Lite is easy enough to mod to HRM and it would only cost a few bucks. A few caps resistors and pots is all you really need. I did it to one amp awhile ago and I'm thrilled with the results.

The pedal uses much of the same filtering and EQ seen in the ODS-101-HRM schematic, plus any recommended modifcations posted by the members on this forum.

Oddly enough, this isn't a "JFET-by-numbers" pedal. Its a decent way from clipping diodes, opamps, and JFET-by-numbers. Its hard to capture in a clip, but in person it responds very atypically for a pedal. Fun stuff.

You're right, that doesn't sound like most pedals.

I'll admit you have my curiosity up as well. I would probably like to try building one myself, if you're willing/able to share the schem and/or layout.

If you record again, do more double-stops, several intervals - major 3rd, minor 3rd, 4th, 5th. One of my favorite characteristics of these circuits is the way double stops sound, especially 3rds. So rich.
