He is done fixing the amp. He said that 2 of the new EL84s I put in were bad. They were the SOvteck EL84M's... He sent me an email stating this:

I replaced the volume pot, bright switch and caps, treble cap, and added a shielded cable on the second stage grid. It sounds great now. Two of those Sovtek EL84's were blown, that's what was causing that loud noise and cutting out you heard. The other set worked fine. I marked three preamp tubes with numbers, use those.

Good customer service and a good builder. I just wanted to give him some customer service/quality attention on here. Im curious to know if he replaced bad parts or just changed the caps for a different sound?

I heard they bought old sparky from florida and upgraded it with 2-prong cords.

No, Old Sparky had the two prong cord and the death cap...as in a natural sponge and saline. New Sparky has a three prong cord, but a faulty death cap... synthetic sponge and/or no saline.

Cheap assed executioners. If New York still had laws they would use an array of 100,000,000,000uF kabillion volt Solens with a mini switch.

I guess Solens would work out alright. They're real quick and wouldn't be cruel and unusual, unlike those damn polyesters!

Yeah, with 10VDC across them.
