Okay. I've updated the layout yet again to fix the issues with the eyelets / pads overlapping components and to mark the polarity on the presence cap.

Thanks for the help from everyone with this!

The hardware installation is done. Now off to populate the boards.

BTW: there's no hole for a ground lug for the relay supply in the CE chassis. Where would be a good place to put the relay grounds? Just install a lug on the power transformer bolt?

Yes there is and the relay supply is grounded at the center post of the 3 lug terminal for the regulator. Even with a dedicated relay PT, I've used only those existing holes.

Thanks! That makes sense. I was wondering why the center terminal of the regulator was grounded twice on the layouts.

As a result of studying the 124 gutshots to try to learn the proper wire routing, I've updated my layout to attempt be a better guide. It's all pretty much guesswork on my part though since I've never actually built one of these before.

Here's the updated layout:

The boards are populated and it's beginning to look more like an amp. In reality I think I'm still pretty close to the beginning of the whole process, though. I've forgotten how tricky eyelets can be. I've gotten spoiled with the pedal builds I've done on fabbed PCBs lately.

This is looking great so far! I have just swapped out the resistors in my #102 for Electra and Piher resistors and it has made an incredible difference to the feel and tone of the amp...you wont be disappointed.

These are a lot of work! I think it takes the professional builders 40hrs to finish one of these amps. They take me about a month!

Everything looks great so far! Excellent work!!

I was out of town for a week so I haven't made as much progress as I would have hoped, but I did get a buch of stuff done yesterday. The relay ps board and bias supply board are wired in as is the indicator lamp. The power tubes are all wired up with OT and choke installed. The foot switch jack and manual switches are wired up. The front bus bar, input jacks, FET board, and all shielded wire is in place.

After some not-so-spectacular results I decided to forego wiring the braid on the shielded wire to the pots and just shrink-tube and run the shield to the bus bar instead. Hopefully that won't induce too much extraneous hum.

Holy spaghetti Batman! This is going pretty slowly. I think 90% of my time is spent attempting to put leads/components in the right place before soldering though. I'm just going to chalk it up to me being a clumsy oaf. When it takes 8 tries to install a nut and washer you know you're less than graceful. :)

Anyway... I've mostly got the front panel wired up now and am now moving on to wiring in the preamp board.

Ugh!!! Power tube socket solder blob. I'm hoping I can get this out somehow.
