Back in the early mid 90's when I was heavily building amps, I bought 1000's of resistors, 100 in each popular value, Carbon film 1/2 watt. I do not remember the manufacture but bought them from Allied. I'll be damned, I just checked some of them and the bodies are highly attracted to magnets while the leads are not. Who knew?? This was before the days of the internet. That being said, I have build some scary 3D sounding fenders, Trainwrecks and high-gain Boogie type circuits with them, all sounding good. Hmmm???

Maybe, I'll try something different on the next build. I find it hard to believe that all of the great sounding amps out there use non-magnet attractive carbon films.

non inductive construction isn't really the best indicator of anything.

most people are actually looking for non-magnetic leads which yours have.

that guaranties that the lead to end cap to resistive material isn't inductive/magnetic

if the body is magnetic it could be for any number of reasons.

fwiw, most mil-spec hermitically sealed ultra-reliability/ultra-precision components have magnetic bodies because they are completely sealed in steel or aluminum.

Interesting diagrammatiks, I also measured some RNC60 unknown brand to me - dark blue in color - Im too lazy to look up their code and some IRC RN70's and they were non-magnetic.

ya, a good portion of rnc's are barely magnetic.

the resistors themselves have minimal inductance.

there's no set standard for endcapping or leads though.
