I live in "The Home of the Okra Strut".
Re: SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Structo, midlands SC doesn't usually get winter weather like this.
Upstate does nearly every year for a short time.
Atlanta is generally worse.

Savannah here. This wasn't snow for us. I have had more in Miami. It was a melty dusting for 1 hour in the dark Monday morning.
I like my snow 5' deep and weeks at a time. Silly they closed schools here first two hours for the last two days. It's not even raining. I had to walk to school in snow.. and you'd better get there early to thaw out before classes start!
Sounds like tardy bureaucrap! Sorry, everything's a tirade.

Snowing in Aurora, Ontario
Expecting a few more inches today
I always complain to my friends and colleagues about "the friggin' immigrants who can't drive in the snow" and they laugh because I'm an immigrant too - with a thick accent to prove it!

Re: SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before Christmas time we had here in Poland (I'm located at Baltic Sea) something like 1m of snow (or more !) and about -10 celsius (sorry, I'm not familiar with F) , after New Year, in nearly 3 days half of snow disappeared as temperatures was somethig like 8C, nowdays in night is probably below 0, so there's a lot ice, while during day is probably like 1-2C.

Here in NE Tennessee we have been getting snow regularly since Dec. 1st. Deepest accumulation so far has been 8"(20.5cM), but in the mountains not far from here they are getting much more.
I had a difficult time getting out of the driveway today as it is uphill the last 40' or so with a climb of over 10'. I'd get halfway up and the rear tires on the truck would break lose. Back up 100' and take another running start at it. Three tries and I finally made it out.
Currently 25F (-4C) and windy, More snow tonight and tomorrow.
One of the guys from work who didn't make it in today sent a photo of him in the snow in his yard with a yardstick showing 29" of snow. He lives about 20 miles from the plant.

Re: SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably not worth mentioning because of the stereotypes, but I'm in the Rockies in Canada and it's been snowing too much in the last week and this very moment.
Here's the thing though:
I hate house-sitting but some friends with a dog were in a bind while they went to Maui for a couple weeks. Something always goes dreadfully wrong for me while house-sitting, causing a whole lot of awkwardness upon return. I was worried about the dog dying, but it turns out my problem would be snow related.
I ran over a buried extension cord with their snow-blower and wrecked both.
I'll solder them a new end on a shortened cord
, but the snowblower may be a bigger deal. I've been shoveling their really steep driveway (with high retaining walls on both sides) so now I'm really getting my exercise. I sure hope the snowblower is just a broken shear bolt in the end, or this will be one expensive favor....

Bummer!
I grew up in SC (Cayce) and was a School Bus Driver in HS (1970). I don't know if they still use student bus drivers, but if they do there is a good reason to call school off with the first sign of snow or sleet. 18 year olds have no experience on driving a school bus loaded with 75 kids on icy roads, even if the engines are governed to a max of 35mph (55KPH).
